Welcome to Week 10

Welcome to Week 10 - Last week reminders
Dear Parents,
5 days of Year 4 to go!
What a wonderful year it has been teaching your beautiful children. Each and every one of them has worked so hard and made great progress. The four teachers feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of children this year. Thank you so much for your support and help throughout 2017.

Homework speeches - "Who Inspires Me?" Most of the children presented their speeches to the class last week. We have been extremely impressed with the development in all the children's public speaking skills during this year. The speeches have been a very high standard. Thank you for supporting and encouraging your child with the preparation of their speeches. Any children who have not yet presented will be given time early this week.

Swimming Carnival 2018 Notes- If your child has not yet returned these notes please do so ASAP. Thank you.

Urgent Request Christmas craft - We are asking the children to provide a wire coat hanger and a plain Christmas bauble for our Christmas craft this week. If they could bring this in on Monday or Tuesday it would be appreciated.Thank you!

Movie Note: Last week the children were given a permission note to watch the  "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" movie. If you would like your child to view this movie this week, please return the note to your child's teacher.
Thank you.

Welcome to Week 6

Welcome to Term 4 Week 6
Thank you for sending your children with resources for their Science Design and Make task last week. They had lots of fun making and testing a waterproof and impact resistant package.

Important Message from Nr Nolan regarding BYOLT 2018
Dear Year 4 parents,
Thank you to the parents who have contacted the school to enquire about the “bring your own learning tool” (BYOLT) program for next year. The BYOLT program allows students in Stage 3 to bring their own learning device to school for the purposes of learning.

We understand that some parents would like to purchase their child’s device soon, but we would kindly ask that you wait until the message about BYOLT goes out next week. The message will outline the designated device to be used by students, expectations of student’s using their own device at school and how the device will be used to develop your child’s learning.
 Thank you
Kind regards,
Ben Nolan

Welcome to Week 5 Term 4

Welcome to Week 5
Science Design and Make Task
On Monday this week the Year 4 students will be completing a Design and Make task as part of our Science unit ‘Material World and Built Environments.’

In order to complete this task we have asked the students to supply some recycled and environmentally friendly materials from home. Hopefully the children have these supplies ready to bring along to school.

4G Bike Safety - from Mrs Prince
In week 5 and 6 4G will be completing a brochure on bike safety rules, appropriate/safe cycling clothing and cycling paths in the local area.
It would be wonderful if the children can bring to school pictures from magazines, leaflets or the internet to illustrate their writing.

Ideas for pictures might include :

⏺ A person wearing a helmet.
⏺ A bike bell.
⏺ Bright clothing.
⏺ Closed in shoes, trainers.
⏺ Reflectors and lights.
⏺ people cycling in single file.
⏺ Maps of the local cycling paths.

Locally and globally, Catholic Mission answer the call to love God and to love others. Socktober is just one way that our school can fundraise and engage in advocacy and mission activities for Catholic Mission during World Mission Month in October.

We hope you can help to support this worthy cause.
